SouLodge Earth Medicine School
Limit 100 Students
REGISTRATION OPENS MARCH 10
EMS is a virtual, four-part foundational certification program for the student who wants to build her ritual toolkit and learn about the culture and practice of non-western healing. It is a beautiful time in history when we can learn to orient for healing, and channel our healing abilities and tools in a positive way: for the earth, for the human community, for the next generations.
The series takes place entirely online for the four days listed under each level and the curriculum is delivered via streaming webinar on class days. You do not have to be present on class meet up days to take the educational series or receive certification.
Each module has assignments which can be worked in pace with the course or self-paced, as long as the deadline for submission is met. From the course start date to submission deadline, there is roughly six months to complete the assignments.
SouLodge EMS curriculum is best used in a self-healing program until the student feels confident to work with clients and communities. The student works narrow and deep with her own allies to build her foundation in Earth Medicine. In this process, the student is living her medicine and building relationships with her helpers.
The specific tools of the Earth Medicine trade, trance and shamanic journey, are characterized by intentionally focusing attention on the task at hand while reducing awareness of the external environment and other stimuli. In EMS, you are the patient as well as the healer, and you come to learn the tools and apply them to your life. Later, you may like to deepen your practice in order to help others.
This series compliments the study students are already doing in related fields as healers and helpers and within families, and offers supplementary support to the self-healing path. Working with Earth Medicine for yourself, for your loved ones, the greater communities, and planetary healing, is in keeping with traditional ways. Practicing Earth Medicine is a way of life, and the best healers and teachers I know are humble, experiential learners, who gather wisdom through repetitive, dedicated practice.

Online class days can be attended in real-time, or can be worked as a self-study program if class days do not fit into your schedule. Before a certificate can be issued, classwork and projects must be completed and submitted as a PDF.
All assignments must be completed by June 30, 2018 and presented in digital format.
The core teachings of SouLodge Earth Medicine School Level One are offered in four modules as follows:
January 25 2018| 10:00am – 2:00pm PST
Working With the Medicine Wheel, Healing Altars, & Sacred Tools
This module provides an understanding of various Wheels of Life, altars and their purposes, as well as partnership with sacred tools, which include, but are not limited to animal medicine, crystals and stones, and traditional instruments. Practical application includes altar building with specified intentions aligned to the four directions, and appropriate utilization and care and keeping of tools. Altars are designed as portals which help the builder access guides who exist in Non-Ordinary reality, and can be built for a multitude of purposes, four of which will be discussed in depth.
February 8 2018| 10:00am – 2:00pm PST
Mastering Trance Journey with Plant and Stone Allies
Journeying with medicine specific to the student’s constitution from the plant and crystal realms provides a relationship both to the tools and to the higher expression which the medicine would like to be known for in the practice. This module is critical for learning to align with one’s tools in an intimate way in order to work with the devas, rather than “use” them. Practical application includes making a consistent study and record of messages which come through the medicine and finding patterns and language for this technique of working with allies from the natural world. Begin asking who will walk with you now! One stone and one plant will be explored “narrow and deep” during this section.
February 22 2018| 10:00am – 2:00pm PST
Creating Relationships with Animal Medicine & Spirit Guides
This module will introduce how a healer embodies her animal spirits and also accesses information from Non-Ordinary Reality in order to retrieve, interpret and apply it in the modern culture. Students will be required to utilize journey and trance states as a portal to higher visions and guidance for themselves and/or their clients. Practical application includes journey, movement, embodiment, song and effective dialogue technique with guides. Ethics/language about how to interpret and relay information is a vital element in this section.
March 8 2018| 10:00am – 2:00pm PST:
The Ethics of Healers & Sacred Circle Etiquette
In this module, students will study the cultural implications of indigenous healers, what they are called, how they are understood, challenges faced by traditional healers, the differences between them and us, the effects of dark energy, and the humble nature of this work. Instruction will also address appropriate conduct for leading circles, creating and maintaining an impeccable container, and sitting together with others on a healing path for the purpose of doing soulwork in community.
